Onsite Project Moderator (NYC)

Work Location: Onsite in Manhattan, NYC

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 40 hours weekly

Engagement Model: Temporary employment; full-time

DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking an Onsite Project Moderator with idiomatic fluency in Mandarin Chinese to join our team for a new 4-week data collection project starting in early February 2025 in NYC. As our Onsite Moderator, you will be working out of our office in Manhattan, assisting and guiding participants for a new study involving an AI virtual assistant, and ensuring the proper execution of study requirements.  

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative project to improve Artificial Intelligence technology.

Role Summary

The Onsite Project Moderator’s primary responsibilities include moderating user sessions and providing updates to the other members of the production team, as well as very basic troubleshooting of data collection technology.

Role Responsibilities

• Responsible for data collection and data management following DataForce by TransPerfect’s and/or client’s protocols  

• Guide and assist participants through the study process  

• Monitor and manage participant flow within the site  

• Address participant questions and concerns in a professional manner  

• Collaborate with research staff to ensure data collection is conducted smoothly   

• Provide feedback on session dynamics and participant engagement  

• Assist in preparing session materials and setting up facilities 

Role Requirements

• Available to work onsite in Manhattan, NYC

• Idiomatic fluency in Mandarin Chinese (Note: candidates can be from Taiwan or mainland China)

• Advanced fluency in English

• Available to start the position in early February

• Available for the 4-week duration of the project

• Technical proficiency and capable of using a Mac and iPhone; comfortable working with Terminal in MacOS

• Experience in moderation, facilitation or similar roles 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to manage groups and foster a positive environment

• Detail-oriented with a knack for problem-solving

• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing scenarios

Preferred Role Requirements

• Knowledge of research methodologies and ethical considerations

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, communications or related field
