Audio Session Lead (United States, remote)

Work Location: United States (Remote) 

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM EST or 1:30 PM – 6:30 PM EST 

Engagement Model: Independent Contractor/Freelance; 15-30 hours/week

Estimated Start Date: Week of Dec 1st, 2025

Estimated Project Duration: 6 weeks 

DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking freelance an Audio Session Lead to support a new audio collection project beginning the week of December 1st. In this role, you will guide participants through remote recording sessions using our internal recording tool, ensure proper execution of the audio collection requirements, and help facilitate the generation of high-quality conversational data. 

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an innovative initiative aimed at improving the recognition of foreground and background speakers in natural conversations. 

Role Summary 

The Audio Session Lead will work remotely and is responsible for managing assigned group sessions, supporting participants during live audio collection activities, and ensuring all project requirements are met. This includes guiding participants through protocol tasks, addressing troubleshooting needs, overseeing smooth session flow, offloading data, and documenting daily progress. 

Role Responsibilities 

• Guide participants through the audio collection protocol and ensure successful completion of session tasks 

• Foster a positive participant experience while maintaining project quality standards 

• Lead remote group conversations and keep sessions on schedule 

• Troubleshoot device or software issues (Mac OS / Windows) in real time 

• Offload, upload, and validate collected data 

• Acknowledge and resolve participant questions; escalate unresolved issues as needed 

• Interact with project tools, hardware, and software systems 

• Track daily progress and submit concise daily reports to the Project Manager and Production team 

• Adhere to all project documentation, instructions, and quality guidelines 

Role Requirements 

• Ability to work weekdays (Monday–Friday), morning or afternoon (US Eastern time zone); estimated shifts: 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM EST or 1:30 PM – 6:30 PM EST 

• Professional fluency in English, with the ability to relay complex instructions clearly to remote participants 

• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and empathetically to a non-technical audience  

• Comfortable working remotely for the full project duration 

• Experience using both Mac OS and Windows devices 

• High attention to detail and accuracy 

• Customer-service oriented, with the ability to stay calm and supportive in live environments 

• Strong integrity, work ethic, and accountability in a project-based setting 

• Ability to monitor, update, and maintain daily tracking and reporting 

• Experience with data collection, research facilitation, or user study moderation is preferred
